The PPPM Story

PPPM was born out of a shared passion for empowering physiotherapists with a passion in the areas of women’s and pelvic health. Over the years, founders Bec and Karina met many physiotherapists who, after completing their formal education, found themselves feeling uncertain and unsupported when transitioning back into the workplace. A common theme emerged—while the coursework provided valuable foundational knowledge, many new practitioners struggled with the lack of specialised mentorship available once they started their careers.

Without proper guidance, some lost confidence in their abilities, while others had to search for employment where senior women’s and pelvic health staff were available to provide meaningful support. Recognising this gap, Bec and Karina were driven to create a solution that would help bridge the divide between education and practice, giving pelvic health physiotherapists the tools and confidence they need to thrive.

The Pelvic Physiotherapy Mentor (PPPM) program was developed as a comprehensive mentoring initiative to offer ongoing support, clinical guidance, and mentorship. Its goal is to equip pelvic physios with the practical knowledge and skills they need to deliver high-quality treatment and make meaningful contributions to the field. By fostering confidence and providing mentorship, PPPM ensures that physiotherapists can follow their passion and offer the best possible care to their patients.

MPPP x PPPM

PPPM founders Karina and Bec also run the well-established Melbourne Pregnancy and Pelvic Physio (MPPP), a boutique clinic specialising in pregnancy and pelvic floor physiotherapy located in North West Melbourne.

Since its inception, MPPP has grown rapidly. Since opening in 2017, the business expanded to three locations, added an exercise studio, and now employs over 20 dedicated staff. In recognition of their success, MPPP was named a state finalist in the 2022 Telstra Best of Business Awards.

PPPM, an intentional reverse of MPPP, is a natural extension of their mission to improve the lives of pregnancy and pelvic health clients. By fostering a nurturing and supportive environment for pelvic health physios, PPPM empowers practitioners to thrive in their careers and make a meaningful impact on their clients' health and well-being.
